Do you ever wonder where the garden statue that you see as you drive by came from? I do time and time again. There are so many types of statues out there; each one seems to be unique. While many people debate when the origin of the garden statue began there is one who has an idea. Many say that the concept of garden statues began during the Renaissance times. That was over 500 years ago! Most of these statues were Greek and Roman depictions placed out in the garden.
While many during the Renaissance period moved on and the Renaissance period was no more, there was some who wanted to continue this. The French were one of these who continued on displaying art in their gardens. The concept was warm and beautiful. Kings were noted to hold these.
The English were the ones who welcomed the garden statue into the gardens of not only the noble, but the not so noble as well. From there, everyone started getting on board with having garden statues in their garden. It’s no wonder either. We can all see why one would enjoy them. Now, we all enjoy going by houses that have these that adorn their gardens. The work is unique and it tells you who they are and what their personality is.
