A Step By Step Guide To Using A Portable Concrete Mixer
Rather than rely on the backbreaking work of carting a wheelbarrow laden with cement around your yard, it could be an idea to hire a portable concrete mixer next time you tackle a bit out outdoor DIY.
In order you don’t follow some predecessors however, follow this step by step guide to make sure you get the best out of it, without any frustrating issues or disasters… Though these in themselves can make for excellent home video footage of course!
The first thing to do of course is check you have all the right equipment. Hopefully you won’t have forgotten the cement or the mixer of course! But there are a few more things to make sure you have close to hand. This includes water and a suitable hose, and power and a suitable extension cord. It is also useful to have a small shovel close by.
The hire company may offer to set-up the mixer for you, though it is straight forward and your portable concrete mixer should come with full instructions. Ensure the mains power supply is on, and turn the water on. Fill the drum of the mixer with two gallons of water.
A good tip for measuring water is to count the flow when the faucet is turned to full. Try filling a two gallon container before, and count how long it takes. Once you have this figure, all other numbers should be easy to work out through simple mathematics.
